Vicki Roberts, who planned many of the fundraising activities, said afterwards, “We are proud to have supported such an effective ‘act now’ charity and selected Veterans Aid because it is known for success in its field. Its work transforms and saves lives.”
Development Officer Delia Holdom, who was invited to the Northwood HQ to accept a cheque for £4,941 on behalf of Veterans Aid said, “It meant a lot to be able to thank so many of the team personally and receive such a warm welcome.”
CEO of Veterans Aid Dr Hugh Milroy said, “We are proud to work so closely with operational bases like Northwood who, as part of the military family, understand how important our work is and have a key role in spreading the word among those who may one day need our support. The money raised by the Carillion Team will make a real difference to an ex-serviceman or woman in crisis.”

In 2017 Veterans Aid saw 479 clients, provided around 22,000 nights of accommodation and put 92 veterans into employment or on training courses. The charity appropriately homed 136 ex-servicemen and women.
