Generous donations to the 82-year-old charity, on the day, topped £500 which was described by CEO Dr Hugh Milroy as ‘amazing’.
“We have always had a good relationship with the HAC but the real value of events like this is meeting new friends and spreading the word about our activities. We help veterans in crisis of all ages, regardless of when or for how long they served, but we would rather they found us before they got into dire straits.”
The VA team, which included Steve Chikoore, Delia Holdom, Leon Stennett, Poloko Hiri and Samy Ali, talked to visitors about the charity’s activities and forthcoming events during the WW1 Centenary Year.
